كتاب التعاريف من أوائل المعاجم الاصطلاحيّة فى تاريخ الإسلام. ويحتوي على أكثر من 2000 مدخل، لا سيما فى الفلسفة والدين بشكل رئيسيّ. يتم تعريف كل مدخل في بضعة أسطر. وقد رتبه الجرجانيّ ترتيبًا أبجديًّا. وهو من قبيل ما يسميه الأوروبيون بقواميس المصطلحات Technical Terms.

Summary

The Book of Definitions is one of the earliest dictionaries of Islam. It contains more than 2000 entries in the philosophical and religious fields mainly. Each entry is defined in a few lines.
